this mood playlist gizmo makes me happy

Posted on May 21st, 2010

On Wednesday I posted a flash mob clip that made me cry. Sometimes I just need to cry, to release the bigness of life that I’m feeling in my being. It’s not sad. It’s just big. And it needs to be expressed.

Whether you need to cry, or get happy, or sad, or clean the bathroom or get fired up to go out tonight, express it with a playlist created by stereomood: emotional internet music. 74483_1_468

This cute and really generous site has created a whole bunch of superbly curated playlists that you can play for FREE.

Emotionless? Hey, you can become a more interesting person with intriguing, talking-point musical tastes by just clicking a random emotion. See if the tunes bring something up for you?!

Some of the moods I like: Elegant, Foreplay, Lonely, Spring Cleaning. And, of course, the Feel Like Crying one, which has 260 songs, including tracks from Cat Power, Band of Horses, Janis and Jackie Wilson. Sweet!

  • What a great idea – finally someone has created what for the last 8 years I have just been making my boyfriend do (he is a producer and DJ, and we often play a little game where he has to choose the music for, say, uplifting, or the colour blue, or upbeat but not annoying, or radical…its loads of fun and he is fantastic at it!) I am definitely going to check this out – now if only someone could make my IPod do it when I am driving…

I am university training, holding a BA Pharm; BA Sc (Complementary Medicine); and currently undertaking Maters of Botanical Medicine through University of Sydney.

In defence of the Naturopathic community- we are educated to teach people who to eat well and get the best nutrient profile possible from their food choices. We are not dieticians- agreed, but we are very well versed in the practical application of the age old Hippocrates Law: “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food”.
