my best-ever recipes #1

Perhaps you’ve finished off at work? Perhaps you’ve done the shlepp back “home” to the parents and are a little bored? (Raining much in your neck?) Perhaps you’re dreading the mince pie/pudding/platters of lollies and Jatz onslaught and want to contribute a few edibles of your own…These might provided some inspiration. Jo and I have compiled a few All-Timers:

Oh, these all look so delicious but the kitchen is the only room in my house I avoid. Maybe I’ll just continue to outsource my cooking.

I made the power bars tonight but when I took it out of the oven it was like toasted muesli consistency. It didn’t bind together. I don’t think there was enough liquid to bind even though I followed the recipe. Can you assist? Thanks

I agree. Same thing happened to me. I found a lack of wet ingredient in the recipe anyway, cos it was so dry even before I put in the oven, but I don’t think more would have helped hold it together. The recipe completely lacks a ‘binder’. So I put in a couple of eggs I happened to have in my fridge which avoided the crumble effect but they weren’t enough. Also found tbsp and half of stevia way too much, but maybe that’s just my taste.

Also it’s a waste putting our precious ‘activated’ nuts in this recipe as the oven temperature kills the enzymes that have been activated.

So disappointed there is so much wrong with this recipe.

agreed! I left to use as granola on my yoghurt. Still disappointed in the taste though
